Do you feel lost

CBC offers a comprehensive men’s Bible study, called Men of the Word. Led by senior pastor Dr. Doug McIntosh, this non-denominational, in-depth Bible Study starts bright an early Tuesday mornings at 6:30 a.m. and ends promptly at 7:30 a.m.

The 2015-16 Men of the Word Study: The Book of Acts

The book of Acts forms the bridge between the earthly life of Christ and the beginnings of the church. It is highly selective in its content and tells the exciting story of the first 30 years of the Christian faith. The book is invaluable as the background history for most of the New Testament letters. Without it those letters would be far more difficult to understand.

When Luke and Acts (both by the same author) are joined together, they offer a compelling account of the foundation and initial development of the Christian faith. Their style and literary quality are unsurpassed in the New Testament. Luke includes about 80 geographical references and mentions over 100 people by name in Acts. His precision in citing locations and titles was once challenged by critics but is now verified by archaeological evidence. To permit an adequate treatment of the book, the study of Acts will take place over two years, with year one covering chapters 1-14 and year two covering the remaining chapters.

Schedule: The Book of Acts (part 1) is a 26-week course divided into two semesters: September 8 through November 10, 2015, and January 5 through April 26, 2016. No class April 5, 2016 (Spring Break).

Start Date: The Men of the Word study begins Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at 6:30 a.m. New attendees are welcome to join the study at any time during the year.
